To cover myself I have to say: The following information is just my thoughts — I am no professional and not responsible in any way if anyone chooses to act upon them or not. Mine is quite happy with it although I do treat it well — extra conditioner — leaving conditioner on the ends for 5 minutes every other wash before washing it off.
I rarely blow dry my hair or use heat products and I only wash my hair once — at the most 2 times a week. The brighter colours are a lot of work to get but are great. If your worried it maybe worth waiting that extra couple of months to let it grow enough to give you that extra length to trim the broken ends as they are normally the worst.
Good luck and I really hope this helps. Let me know how you get on. Do you have any more tips on dealing with the colour bleed from La Riche Directions?
Are there some colours that bleed less than others? Do any of their other purples bleed less? I would be interested to know from your experience.
Unfortunately all the purples blead as they have a high pigment concentration. You can try adding a little conditioner to it. Or use a blue. You are commenting using your WordPress. Directions formulas have changed recently though, so it could be different since I last used it There are lots of methods to remove direct dyes, so don't be unduly concerned about getting it out. I think I read a post about that! What they say and what they actually do are not necessarily the same thing lol They didn't admit to changes in many of the formulas even though they were obviously different, I am still seeing changes in shades they claim not to have altered.
Do you know what happens next? Does it wash out totally back to the base underneath? Andya wrote: Yes, Directions does stain the hair. White vinegar rinse White vinegar can bond to hair pigment and rinse out some types of semipermanent dye.
Combine three parts dye-free shampoo and one part vinegar and create a mixture the consistency of a hair mask. Apply evenly throughout your hair and cover with a shower cap. Vinegar Rinse Using vinegar to rid the hair of a semi-permanent dye in your hair is an effective and lasting method. Soak your hair with the vinegar and let it sit for three or four minutes. Then rinse with a lot of warm water. You can repeat this process up to three times a week, for fifteen days.
